Google Maps is constantly in the midst of expanding its visual portfolio. It is already possible for people to take massive virtual tours from all over the world. Of course, there are still some destinations that are not covered by Google Maps, so people may have to wait to see their very favorite places represented. One day, it will be possible to see every single part of the world on Google Maps, and Google Maps is inching closer and closer to that ideal all the time.
Now, over fifty famous Canadian landmarks can be vicariously visited through Google Maps. Many people have always wanted to visit Niagara Falls for themselves. However, many people cannot afford to take vacations in this economy. A number of people have to sacrifice their vacation days in order to meet their other obligations. However, they can experience many of the destinations that they’ve always wanted to experience for free on Google Maps at a level of detail that once seemed impossible.
Scenes of Calgary Zoo are now available on Google Maps. People can virtually tour Niagara Falls. Canada’s national and provincial parks are now part of the public domain in a whole new way. Of course, many of the architectural wonders are also now available on Google Maps, including the Ed Mirvish Theater, Massey Hall, and the Princess of Wales Theater.
Even scenes from Canada’s famous museums are now available on Google Maps. Sites from within the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum can now be viewed from a great distance. People can more or less take a full Canadian vacation from their homes, or from any other location. These Google Maps images may also encourage people to take their own physical Canadian vacations at some point in the future.
