Following Ubisoft’s supposed, yet controversial stance on parity and the PlayStation 4/Xbox One versions of their upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Unity, some fortunate news has developed regarding BioWare’s current-generation iterations of their latest RPG, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

In a tweet made by BioWare on Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s official Twitter account, the company has confirmed that their upcoming, open-world, role-playing game will run at resolutions of 1080p/900p on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One respectively, stating that they have “maximized the current potential of each platform.”

It seems as though the last sentence of BioWare’s tweet may be a subtle dig at Ubisoft, considering the amount of backlash the company has received to their announcement that Assassin’s Creed Unity will run at a resolution of 900p on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, presumably to maintain parity and avoid any unsavory discussion regarding performance differences between the two consoles. In related news, new developments concerning the PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition have surfaced in the form of new screenshots and the reveal of the game’s minimum and recommended system requirements.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to release on November 18th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

What are your thoughts on BioWare’s confirmation that DA:I will run at a higher resolution on the PlayStation 4? Do you think that their tweet was poking a bit of fun at Ubisoft, considering current events and circumstances? Why or why not?

Also, what is your personal opinion on parity between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Should it even be a point of discussion?
