Update: Capcom has just confirmed this to be a placeholder date. Early 2015 is still the official release date as of this writing.
Yesterday’s PlayStation store update has revealed a possible release date for the upcoming horror title Resident Evil Revelations 2.
In a recent listing made during last night’s PlayStation store update, Resident Evil Revelations 2 was made available for pre-order on the PlayStation store and the pre-order page has revealed a release date for the title. According to the listing, Resident Evil Revelations 2’s first episode will be made available to download on February 17th 2015.
Announced earlier this year, Resident Evil Revelations 2 brings the Resident Evil series back to it’s horror roots and puts players in the role of Claire Redfield and Moira Burton who find themselves stuck in a prison-like setting filled with horrors.
Revelations 2 was also announced as being released in an episodic format with each episode priced at $5.99 or the whole four episode season available for $24.99.
While the February 17th release date has yet to be confirmed by Capcom, fans of the Resident Evil series won’t be waiting too long for the newest installment to be released as Resident Evil Revelations 2 has been confirmed to see a release sometime in early 2015.
The title will be released episodically for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, with a retail packaging to be released sometime after all the digital episodes are released.
