Flagship Smartphones: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs HTC One M8

Earlier in September, Samsung took the stage in the IFA event in Berlin and introduced the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 which is the successor of the Note 3 that was launched last year. With the release expected anytime this month, many smartphone buyers will find themselves having a hard time choosing among the most popular devices today like the LG G3, the HTC One M8 and the Galaxy Note 4. In this article we will focus on the features and specs of the two flagships of Samsung and HTC then try to give a verdict as to which has the edge over the other device.

Display

The display and screen size is a major factor that many consumers consider so let’s try comparing the two devices in this category. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a big device which comes in a 5.7-inch display with a stunning screen while the HTC One M8 isn’t as big but it is sporting a 5-inch display that does look excellent too specially in direct sunlight. When it comes to the resolution, the HTC flagship offers a 1920×1080 pixel full HD and a pixel density of 441ppi while its competitor offers a killer 1440×2560 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 515ppi.

Exterior

When talking about the exterior of these two devices, they are very much different from each other. The Note 4 is the first of all the Galaxy Note series to have a metal design even if there’s really not much of it to be seen. Around the corners of the device is a light, sleek aluminum frame with sleek curves and chamfered edges that looks really wonderful. Meanwhile, the HTC flagship comes with a brushed aluminum unibody frame that is divided with plastic that provide better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals. Among all smartphones available in the market today, it has one of the best looking and feeling that not a lot of manufacturers can rival.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has 16MP back camera and 3.4MP front facing shooter for panorama mode, HD video and wide angle selfies. The HTC device has a 5MP primary camera and a 3.7MP secondary camera with optical image stabilization and video recording.

It would not be easy to choose between the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and HTC One M8 because each of them has great stuff to offer. The M8 is one of the best looking smartphones around and it has the best sounds but if what you like is a beautiful, big display with a great camera experience, the clear choice is the Note 4. Every buyer has different wants, needs and budget so in the end, you might want to drop by the carrier stores and try both devices before jumping at either one of them.
