How Does the Samsung Galaxy S5 Match with the Apple iPhone 6?While Samsung has been doing a great job in refining the design of its devices for years, it still doesn’t seem to win against Apple. The iPhone 6 still stands out—slim, shiny and sexy. Its edges are rounded to make it possible to have a smooth transition to the bigger 4.7-inch display. The aluminum rear panel of this smartphone has a premium feel finish with color options such as silver, gold and gray.

The plastic design of the Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn’t seem to be a seamless but of course, it is highly robust. This smartphone comes with a soft, rough rear panel and a sleek bezel designed to be water resistant with IP67 certification rating to endure in 1 meter of water for half an hour. Its screen size is 5.1 inches which makes the S5 not too big and not too small, just good enough to fit perfectly on the palm when held.

When it comes to the screen resolution, Apple will need to do a lot of hard work if it wants to beat Samsung because it has a huge difference in this section. The resolution for the S5 is 1920×1080 pixels with pixel density of 432ppi while the Apple device only offers a resolution of 1334×750 pixels.

Operating System and Camera

The iPhone 6 is the first Apple device to run on the new iOS 8 operating system with some great features to take advantage of like the HealthKit app and the NFC technology that can be used for making safe payments using a mobile device. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 runs on the newest Android OS which is the v4.4 KitKat but rumors say that it is upgradable to the Android L that is yet to be launched.

On the camera comparison, it’s the Galaxy S5 which wins over the Apple’s device with 16MP primary camera which is twice better than its rival. When it comes to taking selfies though, the S5 doesn’t come close because it only has a 2MP user facing camera compared to the Face Time camera of Apple’s new device which produces more colorful and crisp images.
