Another week and another new release. Microsoft has just released their new Surface Hub application for their Surface Pro 3. The new release is to improve their stylus, and also provided an update for the firmware for the stylus, and the new Hub comes with options of customization on their Surface Pro 3. This includes customer pressure sensitivity and button control.
The feature for button control lets users set the top button on their pen to open up to OneNote Windows 8 style applications or OneNote Desktop. The new app doesn’t involve side buttons having any customizability. Microsoft, however, is in the near feature adding that, but for now users will remain with the top button for basic customization. For regular users of OneNote, it will be worth using the Windows 8 Style default setting, all you have to do is double tap at the top of the pen to screen grab. On the desktop version, it is reported to not works as well when using OneNote however.
Owners of the Surface Pro will be pretty disappointed in the pressure sensitivity control of the pen as many confirmed that the curve of the pen is not shallow enough. Surface Pro 3 users will find that the settings on default have satisfied their needs as it gives them extra flexibility for their inking apps.
Surface Pro 3 accessories are compatible for Surface Pro 4
For those that are planning to buy the Surface Pro 4 and still have their trusty Surface Pro 3. You can look for the release in 2015 sometimes, and for those that still have Surface Pro 3 accessories needn’t worry about buying new ones. Surface Pro 4 will be able to use accessories from Surface Pro 3, so you don’t need to spend anymore.
The general manager for the Surface Line, Brian Hall confirmed this, as he wrote on the official blog of Surface Pro that the newer version of Surface Pro will be compatible with:
-Docking Station of Surface Pro 3
-Accessories, Power Adapter, and Ethernet Adapter that were designed for Surface Pro 3
-Covers for Surface Pro 3
Details, unfortunately, about Surface Pro 4 new release have not been revealed. However, we are positive that the Surface Pro 4 will be around the same size as Surface Pro 3. The 2015 rumored release of Surface Pro 4 means that it will feature the new Windows 10 OS.
