Motorola Moto E vs ASUS Zenfone 4 Compared

In the Indian Market, the Zenfone and the Motorola offerings are extremely popular, and worldwide, many consumers have taken to the different devices. For mid-range smartphones, they don’t offer much power, but you will satisfy your needs. So to see which one is better for your pockets, we will see how each one stacks up.

Sizes, Displays, and Designs

For the mid-range, the Zenfone 4 provides a colorful device with plastic body, rounded corners and edges, and a below the screen a metallic band. The TFT 4 inch display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which offers a modest 480 x 800 pixel resolution and 233ppi pixel density. It weighs 115 grams, making it a lightweight contender with 124.4 x 61.4 x 11.2mm dimensions.

The Motorola Moto E provides a minimal look with rounded corners, a curved back, a centered rear camera, and the below is the Motorola logo. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the 4.3 inch display which offers a 540 x 960 pixel resolution, and 256ppi pixel density. The phone is heavier at 142 grams and thicker with 124.8 x 4.8 x 12.3 mm dimensions.

OS and Hardware

The Mote E and the Zenfone 4 each run on a dual-core Cortex-A7 processor with 1.2GHz speeds. The Zenfone 4 uses a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU coupled with an Intel Atom Z2520 chipset. While the Moto E uses an Adreno 302 GPU that is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset.

Both devices come with 1GB of RAM and have internal memory storage of 4GB, with the Zenfone 4 offering another variant with 8GB. You are able to add expandable memory with a microSD card slot for up to 32GB for the Zenfone 4, and up to 64GB for the Moto E.

The Zenfone 4 runs on the Jelly Bean v4.3, which can be upgraded to the KitKat v4.4.2. While the Moto E comes with KitKat v4.4.2, and the update of KitKat v4.4.3.

Camera

For the mid-range devices that provide a modest camera with the back camera offering 5MP resolution. The Zenfone 4 offers features such as smile and face detection, panorama, and autofocus, with VGA camera in the front. The Moto E however lacks the front camera, which is disappointing.

Battery

The Zenfone 4 lets you down with the Li-Po 1200/1600 mAh battery, which will need to be often replaced. While the Mote E offers a non-removable 1980mAH battery.
