Scott Cawthon, game developer and creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s – undoubtedly one of this year’s most terrifying horror titles, has just announced a sequel to the game via Steam Greenlight, aptly titled Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, alongside a new trailer for the upcoming follow-up.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2
The following comes from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’s official Steam Greenlight page:
“Welcome back to the new and improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza!
In Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the old and aging animatronics are joined by a new cast of characters. They are kid-friendly, updated with the latest in facial recognition technology, tied into local criminal databases, and promise to put on a safe and entertaining show for kids and grown-ups alike!
What could go wrong?
As the new security guard working nights, your job is to monitor cameras and make sure nothing goes wrong after-hours. The previous guard has complained about the characters trying to get into the office (he has since been moved to day-shift). So to make your job easier, you’ve been provided with your very own empty Freddy Fazbear head, which should fool the animatronic characters into leaving you alone if they should accidentally enter your office.
As always, Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for death or dismemberment.”

For those unfamiliar with the Cawthon’s game, Five Nights at Freddy’s is an indie point-and-click survival horror game set in a pizza restaurant known as Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The player is tasked to be a night security guard for the establishment.
Gameplay consists of players defending themselves from malfunctioning animatronic animal characters by tracking their erratic movement through the use of the facility’s security cameras.
Five Nights at Freddy’s was first released on Desura on August 8, 2014. The game released via Steam Greenlight on August 20, 2014. The game is available on PC, as well as Android and iOS platforms.
The game’s sequel is expected to release sometime in 2015.
