When talking about smartphone manufacturers, it’s Apple that normally tops the list of the best and most reputable market players which recently launched its flagship iPhone 6. Of course, let us not forget that it simultaneously released the much anticipated 6 Plus that impressed many users in different ways. Lately, many have put the iPhone 5C and the new flagships of Apple to a test on which is the sturdiest device. Read on for more information about this drop test done by TechRax and YouTube tech blogger.
The phones were dropped two times, the first on their side and the second with their front facing the concrete floor. Among those devices that were put to the test were iPhones 2G, 3G, 4S, 5, 5S,6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The result is almost the same for all the devices with many of them showing very little damage when they were dropped from their side. They had some chips in their paintings and a few scratches on their screens but nothing major. However, more damage to the devices were noticed when they were dropped for the second time with their fronts facing the floor. Their screens got broken but they worked perfectly fine still when used after being dropped.
According to the result of the drop test, it’s only the iPhone 3G that was able to pass without damages but many are saying that there’s a possibility that it was not dropped as strong as the others were.
The evolution of iPhone series shows that there have been a lot of improvements done by the giant manufacturer to make the glass in its smartphones stronger. However, Apple changed its smartphone lineup for the first time with the iPhone 5C which makes it a cheaper but sturdier choice compared to its iPhone 5 released last year.
The improvements in the design and casing of the Apple iPhone 5C explains the reason why it didn’t have that much difference with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus when they were dropped because it has more protection than the earlier generations.
At some point, regardless of how you would take care of either your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, you will likely drop it accidentally but what’s good to know is that it will likely survive. Its front and back panels may separate but its display will remain intact and its performance would not be affected in any way.
