Very rarely in fighting games do you break a mental sweat. Especially in Street Fighter where hadouken’s occur more often than cat pictures on the internet. It looks like the next installment in the SF franchise is headed towards a different approach, going for more of psychological battle than a physical one.
Capcom made a surprise announcement during the Ichiaki Convention in Japan earlier this month. Street Fighter is coming back with an all new game for android and IOS platforms that borrows heavily from Puzzles and Dragons.
Coined as Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits, this adds a new title to Capcoms growing library in the mobile app market. Puzzle Spirits gaming mechanic relies on three-colored match and destroy, that many mobile apps have been known for. Street Fighter Puzzle Spirits will be free to download with in-app purchases, and is slated for a winter 2014 release in Japan.
