The online game download service and website, GamersGate.com, has apparently been subject to an unwarranted amount of publicity due to the site’s name being one letter shy of the recent GamerGate (i.e. GamersGate vs. GamerGate).
For those not familiar with the company, GamersGate.com is a digital video game distribution platform for PC and Mac games with a downloadable selection of over 6,000 titles.
As mentioned previously, GamersGate.com CEO Theodore Bergqvist has said that the company has been receiving some rather negative publicity because of current events in the gaming industry. In response, the company released a press release this morning explaining that their website – GamersGate.com – is not, in any form or fashion, affiliated with GamerGate.
