Team Ninja confirms the release date of their upcoming title Dead or Alive 5 Last Round
Team Ninja has announced that Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will be coming to the Xbox 360/One and the PS3/4 on February 17th in the States and on February 20th in Europe. Last Stand will be the last version of Dead or Alive 5 and it will bring with it 2 new stages as well as two new characters.

As of now Team Ninja still haven’t revealed who the two new characters are yet but Dead or Alive 5 will have a 34 character strong rooster, which is the largest rooster in DoA so far. Stage-wise Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will bring back to two classic stages The Crimson and The Danger Zone.
The Crimson is a fan favourite stage from DoA 2 and DoA 2 ultimate and players will be fighting it out both on the sun-kissed rooftop area as well as the neon filled back alleys. The Danger Zone is a classic DoA stage that dates back to the original title, and on this stage you’ll need to stay alert as the floor has been rigged to explode whenever a fighter hits it.7
Dead of Alive 5 Last Round will have two versions available when it’s released, the retail version which will be available both at stores and digitally and also a free to play version. The free-to-play version has only been announced for the next-gen consoles and its different depending on which console you get it for. The PS4 version will have almost all of the game modes except Story Mode available from the start as well as the four core fighters Ayane, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa.
On the Xbox One the free-to-play version will have access to everything the PS4 version has but it will be on a timer. After the timer expires players will have to buy the Core Fighters pack for $4.99 which will add Ayana, Hayate, Kasumi and Ryu Hayabusa along with the characters Hitomi, Tina, Jann Lee and Bass. Both versions of the free-to-play game will include the ability to add more content through DLC
The Dead or Alive 5 Core Fighter screen sure does look a little empty.
According to the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round website each character not included in the Core Characters pack will cost $3.99 each on the PS4, although the price hasn’t been released for the Xbox One version yet. The Exhibition mode will also be unavailable, although all characters can be fought against as opponents in the Arcade, Time Attack, Survival and Team Battle modes as well as when fighting online.
For the free-to-play version you’ll also have to purchase DLC if you want to play music from the previous DoA games and while some stages will be locked, you can unlock them by playing through the game.
Finally players who own Dead of Alive 5 Ultimate will be happy to heat that any titles, costume packs and story content can be carried over to the Dead or Alive 5 Last Round from even the last gen versions.
