Google released the Chromebook in the year 2009, which refers to a kind of laptop which runs on the Chrome OS created by the company. All the information is stored on the Cloud.
The idea of utilizing the Cloud instead of the system’s hard drive in order to store information, stemmed out of Google’s thought process. Unfortunately the Chrome OS has not yet been able to gain the expected success in the market. If reports are to be believed, many top makers of laptops will be promoting the Chromebook by trading them on their online stores. All top makers except Apple will be part of this kind of promotion. Some of the manufacturers are Dell, Sony, HP, Lenovo etc. Statistics show that the sales of Google Chrome OS in the market has increased from 1% in 2009 to 9.6% currently. Even though this is not a great thing, it still shows that the operating system is slowly increasing in popularity.
