Ubisoft has revealed a teaser trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity which appears to show the game’s protagonist in a Second World War era Paris. The trailer is titled ‘Time Anomaly’.
The video begins with the time period the player is in, namely the French Revolution, ‘collapsing’ due to a bug in the animus. Presumably this event ties into Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s present day plot somehow. The trailer subsequently shows the assassin Arno dodging a train before climbing up the Eiffel Tower and shooting at aircraft with a machine gun.
It will be interesting to see whether this level is a part of the main game or whether it is released as downloadable content. It is certainly an intriguing move by Ubisoft to include such a radically different time period in the game. Could it even be alluding to a future Assassin’s Creed game set during World War Two?
