In an interview that will be talked about for some time to come, Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, beloved saint to all Macintosh fans around the world, shocked his enormous iFollowing yesterday by suggesting the unthinkable: That Apple make a phone utilizing the Android operating system (doctor salaries are about to sky-rocket, following a massive series of iHeart Attacks).

Android, of course being Apple’s number one competitor in the mobile version of gaming’s console war. A war that has seen Android take a commanding lead in terms of operating system usage; with 2013 ending sales giving Android a 79%-14.2% advantage over their rival company.

For those of you wondering, there are no legal blockades should Apple wish to go this route, as Android is an open-source operating system, willingly giving their source code to anyone wishing to use it, free of charge. However, that’s little consolation for a global community of iFans who have been staking their reputation in arguing Apple’s complete supremacy over the Android operating system for years now.

And, while it is legally possible for Apple to use their own home-grown hardware to produce a smart phone sporting the Android brand, it’s highly unlikely, given that doing so would alienate a fan base whose sheer devotion brought them back from the brink of extinction prior to the release of the first iPod in 2001.

Apple fans are sure to be up in arms following a suggestion that many consider to be downright blasphemous. As the technical skill of the ‘Woz’, in addition to the marketing prowess of the late Steve Jobs are directly responsible for the company whose smart phones first revolutionized the industry back in 2007. And with Jobs no longer with us, that just leaves Wozniak to carry the mantel, a mantel many Apple fans are going to want back following yesterday’s controversial comments.
