Rocksmith 2014 Edition will have 12 free songs available for download on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when the title launches this year, publisher Ubisoft has confirmed.
Ubisoft has also stated in the press release that the 12 songs come from none other than renowned singer-songwriter Jimi Hendrix, with these tracks available for download until January 31st, 2015.
Jimi Hendrix has been one of the prominent musicians whose music has appeared in countless games in the past, including the Rock Band franchise and Guitar Hero series — the latter also had him as one of the playable artists in Guitar Hero World Tour, alongside other distinguished names such as Hayley Williams, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Corgan and Travis Barker.
The 12 songs from Hendrix’s discography in Rocksmith 2014 Edition can be found below:
- “Bold as Love”
- “Castles Made of Sand”
- “Fire”
- “Foxy Lady”
- “Freedom”
- “If 6 Was 9”
- “Little Wing”
- “Manic Depression”
- “Purple Haze”
- “Red House”
- “The Wind Cries Mary”
- “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)”
Rocksmith 2014 Edition’s release will take the title’s song catalogue to 500 tracks available for download, with the game shipping with more than 50 anthems from well-known musicians such as Avenged Sevenfold, Aerosmith, Def Leppard and Arctic Monkeys.
Additionally, Ubisoft had confirmed when they announced Rocksmith 2014 Edition in September that users who own the title on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be able to import their DLC tracks from last-generation to current-generation consoles free of charge (Xbox 360 to Xbox One, or PS3 to PS4).
Running on the Gamebryo engine, Rocksmith 2014 Edition is scheduled for release on November 7th for Xbox One and PS4.
