How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris, is chosen as one of the hosts of the 87th Oscars, February next year.
The producers of the show, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan announced their choice of Harris on October 15, 2014.They have said that it is such an honor to have the actor as one of the main hosts of the Oscars. They even mentioned that they have known Neil during his life as an adult, seen how he grew as a stunning performer in some movies, television and even on stage. They also told the media about how grateful they were to have Neil’s talent to be showcased in front of the international stage.
Meanwhile, according to a report from BBC News, the popular actor posted a new video on his Twitter account to reveal this big and explosive news. On this video, he is seen marking the description “host the Oscars” on his list, which obviously mean that it is one of his future plans of doing.
Harris on the other hand, also showed how grateful he was that he will be featured on the international event that will be showcased to the entire world of entertainment. He said that he just is just watching Oscars featuring a whole bunch of amazing performers like Ellen DeGeneres, Billy Crystal and Johnny Carson, but now, he is one of these people and it is a wish come true for someone like him.
Although it is the first stint of the performer as the emcee of the Oscars, he has an experience already in hosting awards shows. He has hosted the Emmy Awards twice and the Tony Awards four times. This just makes it more exciting to see him perform in such big event.
Harris is popularly known as the womanizing Barney Stinson, who is featured on the popular comedy show, How I Met Your Mother, which ended this March.
