Bad Judge is a sitcom by NBC that features a provocative judge, which role was portrayed by the one and only Kate Walsh. The judge’s life is also filled with difficulties and that is what the creators tried to use to try and attempt to have another comedy sitcom for the network that will mostly be loved by viewers. It only happened that the show might likely be cancelled because of its falling ratings from its previous episodes. On its 2nd week performance, the ratings seem to be the same. Critics and most viewers haven’t seen any improvement. Some even said that the quality of its comedic act has not shown any better results. It features a lot of humor and jokes, in addition to Walsh’s huge effort to make it more fun, but it seemed to be not effective as how they would like it to be. It is still not enough as there are a lot of things that they still have to work on.
NBC seems to have a hard time in coming up with the right comedy show that works with their network. It showed in the network’s unstable history of comedy shows. NBC’s biggest hit as being the viewer’s favorite is “Community”, but is now managed by Yahoo, and now on its 6th season. Yahoo chose to get the show after NBC decided to cancel the show for the 4th time, even its ratings seem to be steady and impressed a lot of people.
The fortune and the feedback from the loyal fans for “Community” seem to be not as lucky as “Bad Judge”. A lot of critics find its ratings to continually falling for almost each week. If it worked on the script and documents in the series the time it was presented, it seems like it does not have the same luck, because it is not that effective when it was turned into action.
One reviewer even said that instead of a typical way of comedy wherein inappropriate jokes were given, this show did its best just to make sure it could be as light as possible, even made sure to make it less inoffensive as much as possible, thinking it will create a great appeal to its viewers, now resulting in a very different show that they have in mind.
It seems like a lot of plans in producing a comedy should be well considered because there’s no sense of having a successful comedy if the character could not be played up with so much fun and sense.
