Following on from new footage revealed during Paris Games Week last month for NetherRealm Studios’ fighting title Mortal Kombat X, the studio streamed some further gameplay from the tenth installment in the franchise.

During a livestream on NetherRealm Studios’ Twitch channel, developers from the studio showcased the current characters that have been revealed in action with one another, with the main focus of the stream centering on the three character variations a player can select before entering a fight.

Additionally, Scorpion was featured in a battle against his nemesis Sub-Zero — yes, for the hundredth time now — and the developers took the opportunity to reveal the fire warrior’s first fatality in its entirety, which, as you can expect, is chilling to watch.

Quan Chi, the latest character to have been confirmed in the Mortal Kombat X roster, also had his full fatality revealed during the session, as the first glimpse at the sorcerer’s finishing move was only teased at the end of his announcement trailer.

NetherRealm Studios announced that more of these Twitch streams, dubbed MKX Kombat Kast, will be held in the near future and, in the process, even hinted at some announcements regarding the highly anticipated title may be revealed during one of them.

With Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano, Quan Chi, Ferra/Torr, Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn and D’Vorah having already been confirmed in Mortal Kombat X’s 24-character roster, Ed Boon, creative director on Mortal Kombat X, has recently been teasing fans with the possibility of a new character reveal coming soon, and Sheeva, Ermac and Kenshi are all speculated to be the fighter who could be making their return to the franchise.

Running at 1080p and 60fps, Mortal Kombat X will launch on April 14th, 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
