Google Drive, a product by Google is a software application which is designed to excel in cloud based storage. On 15th of September this year, the Google drive product has gone down for a while during the day and most of its users suffered due to the connection loss. The Tech Company had an investigation section on the Google Drive to come out with results for the cause of the happening. But, they were not able to find out what exactly has happened or what exactly has caused this problem in Google Drive. It just reported 9 to 5 Google.
By 10.28 am EDT, Google first updated their Application Status Dashboard stating that there has been an issue with Google Drive that might be sending warning or causing error messages for most of the users. They added that their technical experts and specialists are working on this issue but there was no further notice or explanation given about its happening.
By the next one hour, Google team updated the first status with the statement saying that their technical experts and specialists are still working on the issue and are continuing it till then. By 12.15 pm EDT, the Google dashboard status changed which was a total shock saying that the upgraded or new version of the Google Drive to the users is promised by Google. Then raised many questions in the minds of users. What about the data stored in this Google version?
It took a longer time than what Google promised but by 2.22 pm EDT Google came out with a new updated version despite of the serious situation. The final update about the issue in the Application Status dashboard is just a single statement that the situation has been resolved and fixed for now. And in addition, another statement which stated that precautionary actions are being discussed and will be implemented to avoid such situations in the future. The company apologized for the inconveniences that it has caused its users and thanked everyone for the patience that they have had with them during the issue. Google and its products are always aimed at providing the best system performance which was the first in the priority list. This is why Google has solved the issue so quickly taking it to be serious than any other tasks and placed the issue to be the first in the to-do list for the specific day when the issue occurred.
But, the problem is that Google has not given any explanation about the issue and the cause of the issue till now. This means that the company is hiding certain problems from its users. A number of users have reported that they were unable to use the online applications like the Docs and the Slides and some stated that they were unable to have access to their personal information such as the photos, audio and video files stored in the Google Drive. However, people have gained access back and are enjoying the application now.
