Earlier today, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Game Studios Phil Spencer announced via twitter two new Xbox One games developed under the ID@Xbox program. The first shipping games under the independent developers publishing program for the Xbox One will be a Worms game and a mix of PacMan meets mini ninjas action Nutjitsu.

The tweet was sent as a response to fans discussing the ID@Xbox program. Supporting independent development for the Xbox One, the ID@Xbox program lets people self-publish their games on the next-gen console, without much hassle. Offering Indie Developers the tools and support they need in order to achieve maximum success, the ID@Xbox program is quite accessible with only one requirement – to be a registered developer.

Xbox One Games Next-Gen Nutjitsu

Nutjitsu is already available on Windows Phone

Even though, nothing about the upcoming Worms game has been mentioned, Nutjitsu has been released and is available for Windows phone for quite some time. The game holds similarities with the classic PacMan franchise and is dressed in humorous, yet cute mini-ninja squirrel style. The addictive gameplay of the game could leave you wasting hundreds of hours, but becomes quite repetitive with time. However, as the Flappy Bird phenomenon has proven, repetition sometimes matters.

The Gameplay of Nutjitsu is quite similar to PacMan

Even though these two newly announced titles are not that impressive, being recognized as games for a next-gen console, it is nice to know that Microsoft are in support of Indie Development and that we will be able to enjoy some mini-games and innovative indie experiences on the Xbox One as well.
