Super Smash Bros. Pre-loads Now Available

by GH Staff

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, easily one of the most highly-anticipated titles of 2014 can now be pre-loaded.  Gamers looking forward to playing Super Smash Bros. on release day should be excited by the fact that they won’t have to wait to download the entire game before jumping into the action.

Super Smash Bros. can be preordered through Nintendo’s website, or purchased directly through Nintendo’s e-shop on your Wii U console.  Download codes purchased online at Nintendo’s website are guaranteed to arrive at least 72 hours before the game’s release.  Codes can also be acquired in select brick-and-mortar stores.  Regardless of purchase method, redeeming the code on your console will allow you to pre-load the game.  On release day, a much smaller game update download will be required, and then you’ll be able to play the game.    Alternatively, physical versions of the game are available at most retailers.

If digital releases of the recent past are anything to judge by, pre-loading the game is definitely a good idea if you’re planning to purchase digitally.  It is difficult for distributors to estimate server load on the day of a big release, and that has been showcased more than once this year.  Pre-loading the game now will ensure that you’re able to play as quickly as possible.

Will you be taking advantage of this convenience?  Or do you prefer to get physical copies of your games?  Let us know in the comments!
