The latest update to one of the world’s most popular instant messaging apps gives it a bigger edge than competitors. WeChat 6.0 for Android and iOS systems includes the sight messaging feature, not found elsewhere yet.
Developers behind WeChat have been consistently performing and have always provided users with the most useful features and the best quality of service. With millions of subscribers globally, WeChat is preferred by many as an instant messaging platform. But with stiff competition in the global market, with major players like WhatsApp, Line and many other apps, developers need to be working hard and must release new features ahead of others. WeChat developers have, yet again, managed to do just that.
With other handy features like shake and push to talk, WeChat has now launched its sight messaging feature. This is available on WeChat 6.0 and can be downloaded or updated for free from the Android app and iOS app stores. This feature allows users to send video messages right from the chat screen itself. However, it can only be done if the receiver also has the latest version of the app installed.
The new feature can be seen in menu options, which can be activated using the plus button on a chat screen. Once accessed, sight message allows users to start recording video messages instantly. This message can then be shared with the receiver immediately, without ever having to leave the chat screen. Sight messages can also be shared within groups, making it very useful for family members and friends to share their experiences in an all new way.
All that this feature requires, as with the app, is a proper internet connection at both ends. Once provided, the app works with minimal problems and disruptions.
The sight feature can run both in the chat and the moment screens of the app. Once Moments is visited, users get access to streaming feeds of links, videos and photos as shared by contacts. The camera can be used here, to capture a new video recording, which can then be easily shared on the timeline. This allows users to share their moments of experience in the form of sight messages very easily.
These are not the only features that WeChat has provided in this update. The update features a number of enhancements made to visual elements of the screens. This provides for an even more enhanced and better experience than earlier versions. There is also easy access to WeChat stickers from a new tab bar featured on the screen. Users have already been requesting all of their contacts to update their version of the application in order to effectively use the sight message feature.
All these added features enhance WeChat even more and make it much more pleasurable to chat and connect on. Existing users can update their versions, as also new users can download this app for free from the Google’s Android store and Apple’s App store. WeChat has yet again managed to diversify its wide set of features provided and is only expected to do more in the future.
