NetherRealm Studios’ fighting title Mortal Kombat X is certainly taking a leap forward compared with last-generation’s Mortal Kombat 9, and the upcoming game is set to feature unique introductions between fighters in the 24-character roster.

Ed Boon, creative director on Mortal Kombat X, revealed the character interaction between new combatants Cassie Cage and Kotal Kahn before the fight, while developer NetherRealm Studios tweeted an image of Raiden trading a few words with Ferra/Torr.

“Not many people are aware that the MKX characters actually have mini-conversations with each other during the fight intros,” Boon tweeted.

Cassie Cage, being the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, has certainly inherited her father’s sense of humour, with the fighter complementing Kotal Kahn by saying “Nice miniskirt.” Kahn, on the other hand, doesn’t share her sense of humour, with Outworld’s Aztec-style warrior slicing his hand with his dagger and responding with “A joke at my expense?,” while Cage offers yet another witty remark: “Nah, it’s yours for free.”

Earlier this month, NetherRealm Studios have recently teased fans with footage from Mortal Kombat X during a “MKX Kombat Kast” session on Twitch, which revealed Scorpion’s brutal fatality in its full entirety.

With Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano, Quan Chi, Ferra/Torr, Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn and D’Vorah currently confirmed for the Mortal Kombat X roster, Boon has been teasing the possibility of a new character reveal coming soon, leaving many to believe it may be Sheeva, Ermac or Kenshi to be announced next.

Running at 1080p and 60fps, Mortal Kombat X will launch on April 14th, 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
