Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have received confirmation of two brand-new events set to take place in Japan, with the two eagerly awaited games scheduled for release in the region later this week.

Running from December 12th to January 16th, the first event celebrates the opening of a new Pokémon Center in Tokyo, and players have the opportunity to download one of two Pokémon at the event: a shiny Charizard (holding Charizardite Y) or a shiny Pikachu. Serebii has stated that the event will be based on real-world time, meaning the distribution of the two Pokémon can vary depending on the hour in which they’re downloaded.

The other Pokémon event, however, takes place at Jump Festa 2015 on December 20th, with the Pokémon available for download is a Linoone. Details behind the ‘special’ Linoone have been released, as the Pokémon will be at level 50 and holding a Focus Sash upon distribution, while a moveset is also confirmed: Extreme Speed, Helping Hand, Baby-Doll Eyes and Protect.

During the event, a special battle competition will be held — name of the tournament is currently unknown — and the prizes include in-game items such as PP Up or a PP Max. Additionally, QR codes will be distributed at the event in order to access the Super-Secret Bases of celebrity guests in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, including Ayana Tsubaki (Japanese model), Nobuhiko Okamoto (voice actor), Aoi Yūki (voice actor), Emi Nitta (voice actor), Shouta Aoi (singer) and Ban Megumi (voice actor).

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are scheduled to launch in Japan, North American and Australia on November 21st for Nintendo 3DS, while Europe is set to receive both games on November 28th.
