The market for smartphones has become increasingly flooded with new flagship models that have placed numerous manufacturers with the same old. An introduction of a dash of fresh air was needed.
Not all users want another flagship device. However, people do want a smartphone that is neatly designed and serves its purpose. The Samsung Galaxy Grand and the Lenovo Vibe X offer just that.
Layout
Looking at the designs of both these smartphone, it is clear that each company kept their standard designs. The Galaxy Grand from Samsung still provides a large smartphone, much similar to the Note 2. However, it doesn’t provide much difference in their design. The Galaxy devices are mostly designed with the curved edges, the side volume control button, and the right side is the lock button. The Lenovo Vibe X provides a design that is premium. The high-level quality of the build is remarkable even though it is plastic. It is good to hold because it is really thin.
Screen
Looking at the screen and its features, the 5 inch display from the Galaxy Grand provides a pixel density of 187 ppi, and a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. However, it lacks the technology that is known on most Samsung flagship devices. However, it provides angle views, vibrant colors, and decent contrasts. The Vibe X, on the other hand, provides a higher resolution on their 5 inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The colors look nice on this display as well, in which you are able to see with great ease in direct sunlight.
Specifications
The Galaxy Grand uses a dual-core Cortex A9 processor with speeds of 1.2GHz, combined with a Broadcom chipset. Why this doesn’t sound like much, it is able to handle various tasks. It is largely aimed at consumers that aren’t looking a device that is high on gaming or doing much that is complicated. The Vibe X runs on a quad-core processor with speeds of 1.5GHz. The Galaxy Grand is a powerful, but the Vibe X is more powerful and able to handled more demanding tasks and applications. It has nearly flawless operation, with occasionally only hardly noticeable hiccups.
Conclusion
Both smartphones are advantageous to any consumer looking to not spend a lot to get a quality device. The Galaxy Grand is aimed at those that are not looking for much in their smartphone. While the Vibe X is for those that still want a mid-range front but provides better capabilities, design, and specs.
