The head of Xbox of Japan Takashi Sensui has resigned his position after a poor turnout of sales for the Xbox One in Japan.
Having launched in Japan back in September, the Xbox One has only sold 38,461 units so far, which is considered a terrible performance of sales even this early in its lifetime. Sensui, however, will remain with Microsoft’s Xbox division, but will be relocated to the US headquarters for a position that has yet to be announced at this time.
According to VG24/7, Xbox One only sold 776 units in Japan last week, while PlayStation 4 sold 12,400 units and Wii U sold 9,600 units. Time will tell if whoever becomes Sensui’s successor as head of Xbox Japan can turn around poor sales for the territory, which has always been an issue for Xbox consoles in Japan.
