The Order: 1886

The Order 1886 has been talked about by gamers for months now, but most of the attention has been focused on the games stellar graphics and its 30 FPS frame rate lock. One aspect that hasn’t even had a mention is the games music. Music in a video game is one of the most under-looked and under-appreciated aspects. The music is usually the leading factor in making you feel a specific emotion while playing, and I know when I look back on games from my childhood, the music is what I always remember the most.

The Order 1886 is looking to be just as memorable, with live music performed by an orchestra in Abbey Road Studios. Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, Ready at Dawn stated the importance of their game’s music, and the need for a compelling sound.

‘We didn’t just want a score; we were seeking a ‘sound’ that would define our world.’

Developers Ready at Dawn have released a six minute video detailing the music for The Order 1886. You can check out the video below.

The Order 1886 is a third person shooter set in an alternate universe in the late 19th century, in which an order of knights keep the streets of London safe from deadly monsters. It is set for release on February 20th 2015 and will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
