Everybody please get along before Jaina Proudmoore has to turn you into an ice-cube
As part of the latest Alpha patch for Heroes of the Storm, they have introduced a brand new hero from the World of Warcraft. The new hero is none other than the peace obsessed Archmage Jaina Proudmoore and Blizzard announced her release with this hilarious trailer.
In Heroes of the Storm Jaina is a long-range assassin meaning that she can deal a high amount of damage very quickly but she can’t take it back. Her Heroic Trait is called Frostbite which will chill any enemies hit by one of her spells, slowing them down and increasing the damage they take from her other spells. While the increased damage is nice for finishing off weakened enemies, the fact that her spells will slow down her enemies is just as important since it will help you escape from combat.
Jaina takes the term freeze to a whole new meaning.
Moving onto her Starting Abilities, there called Frostbolt, Blizzard and Cone of Cold. Frostbolt is her long-range spell which allows her to both pile on the damage and chill her opponents at range. Blizzard is a small two wave area of effect spell that will damage and chill whoever gets caught in the storm. Her final Starting Ability is called Cone of Cold and its best saved for those moments when your enemies caught up with you. It’s a short-range spell that chills and damages enemies.
With her Heroic Abilities Jaina can either summon the Ring of Frost or her Water Elemental. Her Ring of Frost spell is a large and devastating area of effect spell that will damage and freeze whatever enemies that enter it. It’s basically a Blizzard with steroids and when the Ring of Frost disappears it leaves a lingering frost which will chill anyone who walks on it. Her Water Elemental meanwhile can be sent after unexpected foes and like all of her abilities will chill.
Jaina Proodmoore is the latest character Blizzard has introduced into Heroes of the Storm from the World of Warcraft universe.
