Gearbox Software and 2K Australia recently registered Borderlands Remastered in Australia
It seems like Gearbox Software and 2K Australia are planning to give Borderlands the Remastered treatment as the game was found registered by them on the Australian Classification Board. The game titled Borderlands Remastered was registered on December 11th and the classification states that it’s coming to multiple platforms so it’s probably coming to the Xbox One/PS4 and PC.
At the time of writing 2K Australia and Gearbox Software haven’t officially announced that Borderlands Remastered is being released but it has been given a MA 15+ rating due mainly to the Strong Violence and the Online Interactivity.
Borderlands 1 was originally released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC back in 2009 and has become sort of flagship franchise for Gearbox Software. When the game came out, one of its main boost was that the game could randomly generate over 17 million weapons, although in reality it could generate 3,500,000 which is still a ton.
The original Borderlands game also got 4 pieces of DLC titled The Zombie Island of Dr. Zed, Mad Moxxi’s Underdrome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution so expect to see them in the Remastered Edition.
On December 11th Borderlands Remastered was registered on the Australian Classification Board and while Gearbox and 2K Australia hasn’t confirmed the story yet, we’ll keep you up to date on this story as it unfolds.
On November 27th Maxime Chiasson reviewed the first episode of Telltale Games Tales of the Borderlands and you can check out that review here.
