Publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that the first DLC expansion for Far Cry 4, Escape from Durgesh Prison, will be released on January 13th, 2015.
Escape from Durgesh Prison centres upon main protagonist Ajay Ghale and Hurk, as players are put through a set of time trials after the two characters awaken inside Yuma’s prison — not exactly the best situation, is it?
Side objectives are also included with the main story-driven experience, allowing players to upgrade their equipment and, more importantly, retrieving the weapons taken from them upon their arrival at Yuma’s prison.
The DLC is available to play in either the single-player mode or with a friend in co-op, while dying in Escape from Durgesh Prison will result in the mission being rested back to the beginning.
According to the Ubisoft Blog, Far Cry 4 Season Pass owners will receive the upcoming DLC content for free, or it can be purchased separately for $9.99 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The Season Pass ($29.99) was announced earlier this year and includes five DLC expansion packs: The Syringe, Hurk Deluxe Pack, Overrun, Valley of the Yetis and, of course, Escape from Durgesh Prison.
Gamer Headlines review for Far Cry 4 highlighted that the multiplayer was “disappointing” but praised Ubisoft’s open-world title for its “expansive world, packed with varied missions and collectibles.”
