After the release of Rockstar Games’ critically acclaimed open-world video game, Grand Theft Auto V, the company promised that GTA 5 would receive story-expanding DLC sometime in 2014. As many well know, Christmas is nearly upon us, and with that comes the new year – rendering Rockstar’s promises seemingly unfulfilled.
For reference, Rockstar announced the following last year:
“We have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin, and Trevor’s action, mayhem, and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.”
However, in a recent interview with Jack Thriller, Shawn Fonteno – the voice actor for Franklin, one of the three protagonists in GTA 5, has revealed that story DLC for GTA 5 may currently be in development.
Read what Fonteno had to say about his work of GTA 5 DLC after the break.
Franklin’s Voice Actor Working on GTA 5 DLC
Fonteno had the following to say regarding his work on DLC for GTA 5:
“We’re working on the DLC, downloadable content, for Grand Theft Auto V and that’s real big. That’s first on my list, to finish that up.“
Keep in mind that Fonteno’s statements do not represent the official word of Rockstar Games. There are a few possibilities of what Fonteno may be working on, such as a cameo in GTA 5‘s mulitplayer component, GTA Online – especially given the fact that online heists are soon to arrive for the game in early 2015.
However, if Rockstar is making good on their promise to bring story DLC to GTA 5, gamers have a lot to be excited about.
While the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of GTA 5 are available now, the PC version of the game will release on January 27th, 2015.
What are your thoughts on Fonteno’s statements? Are you excited to explore San Andreas further with story DLC for Grand Theft Auto V? Why or why not?
