UPDATE: After 6 days of continuous Zelda action, Zeldathon Relief has raised $104 000 for Direct Relief, crushing their $100 000 goal. Congratulations, guys!
Following its highly successful Zeldathon Adventure of this past Summer, which raised over $100 000 for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the FunForFreedom organization and the many members of the Zeldathon community will be kicking off their thirteenth The Legend of Zelda charity marathon with Zeldathon Relief.
Starting today at 4:00pm Eastern Time/3:00pm Central Time/1:00pm Pacific Time over at the FunForFreedom Twitch channel and on Zeldathon.net, the gang will be raising money for Direct Relief, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that provides medical assistance to people around the world who have been affected by natural disasters, poverty and civil unrest, all while playing all of the Zelda games (even the obscure ones), and engaging in some wacky challenges, pranks and dance-offs. They are aiming to raise $100 000 throughout the entire charity event.

Additionally, as an incentive for people to keep donating, Zeldathon Relief will be using The Adventure System, the same structure used during Zeldathon Adventure, in which the games must be unlocked during the marathon based on the amount of donations received from the viewers. This means that the marathon could last until January 2nd if the $100 000 goal is reached. You can consult the schedule for the event right here.
At the time of this writing, the marathon has not even started, and Zeldathon Relief has already raised over $2 000. You can donate to Direct Relief by clicking right here.
