Update on December 31, 2014:

The newsletter confirms a couple of things. The February fundraiser is to secure the needed resources to get the project moving and expand the team to a much larger scale. Their goal, however, for the coming campaign, is going to be approximately $250,000 – $275,000. Though it’s consider a high budget, the developers know that the realistic total production budget is estimated to be near $1,000,000, which will be a stretch goal.

“I know this sounds like an astonishingly high amount, but with a project as complicated as a massive ocean liner, a couple hundred character models, a city, programming for a 4 day voyage, and a real time 2-hour-and-40-minute sinking where the whole ship falls apart, it comes into perspective.”

Fortunately, they will be trying to subsidize this by having additional fundraisers in other locations. Again, most of the funds will go towards hiring additional modelers for the massive work load, a team of skilled programmers, and other artists to help us bring this ship to life with the quality of a AAA game. One of the videos to be released around our fundraiser will specifically detail the budget so everyone can understand where the money will need to go, as well as how the Phase 2 budget was spent. To coincide with this campaign, a new press kit will also be released with the fundraiser in 2015!

With the 2013 fundraiser, a heavy focus of the past year has been modeling areas and getting them ready for the game engine. Their most recent goal has been to tackle areas that require extensive deciphering, while making significant progress of the ship’s galleys and dining pantries–particularly on D-Deck.

Significant spaces accomplished in 2014 that are ready for game importation, or already are in, include the First Class Dining Saloon, the Turkish Bathcomplex on F-Deck, the Dining Saloon Pantry and Galleys, the Double Ended Boilers, the First Class Lounge, and the First Class Smoke Room. On the outside of the ship, the Forecastle and Poop Decks have also come to completion.

As a quick reminder, Four Funnels Entertainment has not released an official launch date for this massive project, but this historical and realistic simulation of Titanic will arrive on the XBox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Plus, the development team will host another fund-raising campaign sometime in early 2015 as well. For more information, please visit the official website.
