Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the upcoming episodic survival horror game, has been delayed by a week to allow for “polishing work and gameplay optimisation.”
Capcom announced that the release schedule has been pushed back, the game had originally been planned to launch February 17th but will now begin it’s episodic run on February 25th (a day earlier for North America). From then on, a new episode will be released each week for four consecutive weeks. The last episode will be released Mach 17th, 2015.
Each episode will be priced at £4.99/$5.99/€5.99, although a Complete Season Pass will be made available to players that bundles all the episodes together for £19.99/$24.99/€24.99. For those of you who don’t wish to play the game episodically, Capcom will release the entire game on disc on March 20th, 2015 in Europe and March 18th, 2015 in North America.
The game was announced during Sony’s pre-TGS show last year. The game takes place between the storylines of Resident Evil 5 and 6 and follows Claire Redfield and Barry Burton’s daughter Moria, who wake up in an abandoned island facility after being kidnapped. Story details are fairly thin on the ground, but all signs point to a possible return to form for the wavering survival horror series.
The game will be the tenth installment in the Resident Evil series, and will mark the franchise’s next-gen hardware debut. The game will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
