A strange, but possibly revealing advertising placement concerning Watch Dogs showed up this morning on the PlayStation Network competition website according to a user who spotted it while browsing. The ad read “Watch_Dogs is on the way…” and also reveled that the release date could be found in a trailer.

As seen from above, Twitter user @TuCk3R0 posted up a phone camera image of his findings at midnight, citing that clicking the advertising image actually redirects you to another PSN competition page and not to a Watch Dogs release date trailer as advertised. The ad has disappeared since then, however NeoGAF member ekim was able to catch and credit @TuCk3R0 for his investigative photography, so to speak.
Originally announced at the 2012 E3 gaming convention, Ubisoft has been working on the action-packed action thriller known as Watch_Dogs for about five year now. Available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, XBOX One, XBOX 360, Wii U and Microsoft Windows, Watch Dogs will allows players to control a vigilante named Aiden Pierce, who has the world as his fingertips with a touch of a button on his phone. Able to hack anything he sets his eyes on, he’s become a man on the run in a city highly controlled by it’s central operation system.
With these images out in the open, time can only tell when Ubisoft will comment on the matter or make an actual announcement featuring a release date for the game.
