The Accidental Leak of Dead Nation for the Playstation 4

by GH Staff

As most Playstation 4 owners know, there has been a lack of new contest with the next generation console. But Sony has been trying to hide this fact; every month, a new game has been available for free with a Playstation Plus Membership. While Sony adopted this policy in the past, Playstation Plus was not mandatory on the Playstation 3. Now that a gamer needs Playstation Plus in order to play online on the new console, the continuous flow of free games has been a perk of the new policy.

At the beginning of February, the first person horror game Outlast was made available to all Playstation Plus members, which is a big deal considering the fact that Outlast was originally a PC only game.  Even on the Playstation 4 release date, several games were available for free: Contrast, DC Universe Online, and the Playstation 4 exclusive Resogun. A Swedish company called Housemarque developed the latter, the same company that is famous for Super Stardust and the Playstation 3 exclusive Dead Nation.

Now, recent IGN reports have shown that the next free game might be a ported version of Dead Nation. This would make sense, because Housemarque and Sony have maintained a healthy relationship over the years; Sony Computer Entertainment has published five out of the developer’s last nine games. The source of this report is the Official Playstation Blog of Asia, which lists Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition as releasing on March the 6th as a Playstation Plus free game. There has been no confirmation from Sony about the actual release date or what territories it will be released in. As soon as there is an update, we’ll make sure to report it.
