Killzone Shadow Fall Multiplayer Will be Free for a Week

by GH Staff

A couple of months ago, Sony allowed for a free weekend of multiplayer action in the PlayStation 4 exclusive game Killzone Shadow Fall. The response was overwhelmingly positive, as an active PlayStation Plus subscription was not required. In addition, it gave everyone who owned the relatively new console a chance to see a game built specifically for the PS4 hardware in action.

Fast forward to now: Respawn Entertainment’s Xbox One exclusive title TitanfallĀ is just under two weeks from release, and Sony wants to give its fans one more chance to experience the PlayStations’ flagship first-person shooter. The week of free gameplay will begin on March 4th and will give everyone (once again regardless of PlayStation Plus subscriptions status) a chance to experience Killzone’s first free map pack.

Guerrilla Games, the development team behind theĀ Killzone series, posted the following blurb regarding the game’s history:

“KILLZONE SHADOW FALL multiplayer has been going from strength to strength since its launch, with hundreds of improvements and constant balancing. There have been many new exciting developments including Clans, the First Killzone Invitational tournament, new Weekend Challenges, New Warzone options, expanded Personalisation options, and much more.”

It’s clear that Guerrilla Games is immensely pleased with the progress they have been making, and as the number of next-generation first-person shooters continues to increase, it will become even more important for them to make it clear that they are still in the running for top dog.
