Celebrating 14 years since the release of the first Sims game, EA decided to offer almost all of their The Sims 3 games, including bonus content with a discount of up to fifty percent. The marketing campaign started on the February 4th and will conclude in less than 24 hours on February 11th, 11:30 AM Pacific Time.
The Sims was published back in 2000 on February 4 and was the first sandbox game to aim at strategic life simulation. Four years after the release of the first game The Sims 2 was released, followed by The Sims 3 in 2009. The Sims 3 brought quite a few changes to the franchise, including an open city and improved graphic fidelity of the game.
The Sims 3 was the first game that featured completely open town for your sims to play in.
As a part of the 14th anniversary, EA revealed two special offers. One is available through the official Origin EA The Sims 3 store and lets you purchase any game expansion as well as the original The Sims 3 at a up to 50% discount. The other is available through the official site of The Sims franchise and is a free Town Life Stuff expansion gift to every The Sims 3 owner.
