Alien: Isolation sequel discussed daily at The Creative Assembly

According to a recent interview with The Creative Assembly’s Gary Napper, the lead developer on Alien: Isolation, the development team behind the game have frequent discussions on the topic and direction of an Alien: Isolation sequel.

While Alien: Isolation was generally well-received upon release this past October, the game’s overall console and PC sales have not been officially disclosed by Sega, which – depending on whether or not the game sold enough – ultimately decides the potential for an Alien: Isolation sequel.

Regardless, Napper states that the team at The Creative Assembly discusses the possibility of an Alien: Isolation sequel on a daily basis.

The following comes from AVPGalaxy.net‘s interview with Gary Napper – (Note: Spoilers regarding Alien: Isolation’s story below):

“The plot for a sequel is a daily topic in the studio sometimes. People have their own ideas for where it should go, our writers have some solid concepts and yes, we do have a great opportunity to continue her story.”

As for a more action-oriented Alien: Isolation sequel, Napper does not personally feel that is the best manner of approach:

“I personally think that Amanda did not get infected in the hive, as when she wakes, the closest egg remains closed.

I think the action-oriented Aliens style game is very different from what Isolation is. If we made a sequel I would like to stick to the same terrifying single Alien approach, but do more with the environment and interactivity within it.”

What do you think of Napper’s statements regarding an Alien: Isolation sequel? Would you like to see a more action-oriented game, or a refined version of the original’s gameplay?
