Amazon is known as an e-shopping cart all over the world and this shopping cart giant entered into the electronic manufacture category through Amazon Kindle and to add one more feather to its cap it recently entered into the smart phone category and released a smart phone with high end specifications and named it as Amazon Fire. Unlike Amazon fire which needed so much introduction, Samsung S5 is familiar to everyone. This is a premium smart phone from Samsung and released some months back (February 201 to be precise). Let’s have a look at the specification of these two phones and compare.
Design and User Interface: Though Fire and S5 are look similar in design, Samsung S5 is superior in design but the plastic may not be liked by all. Though both are based on Android, S5 allows its users to download from Google Play (the official app store of android) where as Fire with dedicated Fire OS won’t allow its users to download from Google Play.
Display: The screen size of S5 is 5.1 inches where as Fire is equipped with 4.7 inch screen. Coming to the resolution of the devices, the first one has a resolution of 1920*1080 with 432ppi where as the latter has 1280*720 resolution with 315ppi. The screen of S5 is super AMOLED screens where as the latter is fitted with HD LCD screen.
Camera: Equipping the mobile phone with perfect camera can increase the sales like anything and it can backfire if the camera fails to deliver up to the expectations of the users. Samsung S5 is equipped with 16MP and 2MP cameras on rear and front respectively and the rear camera is able to capture 2160p videos at 30fps. On the other hand Amazon fire is equipped with 13MP and 1.2MP cameras on back and front respectively and the rear camera is able to capture to capture 1080p HD videos at 30fps.
Hardware: Both the phones are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which is supported by 2GB of RAM. Both the phones are available in 16GB and 32GB versions where as there is no scope expanding the memory in Amazon Fire whereas in Samsung S5, one can expand the memory by 128GB through external SD card. The clock speed of Samsung S5 is 2.7GHz whereas the other operates at 2.2GHz clock speed.
Battery: Samsung S5 is equipped with 2800mAh removable battery which is considered as mammoth in the similar category phones and the smart saving mode will help you in battery lasting longer even if the batter percentage is less than ten percent. On the other hand, Fire is equipped with 2400mAh battery which is very close to S5.
The price of the Samsung S5 is $505 and the Amazon Fire comes with a price tag close to $550. Despite scoring very low on several parameters Amazon Fire priced a bit high and with S6 release date getting closer one can expect further decrease in the price of S5. Finally, opting for S5 is good when compared to Amazon Fire.
