Among the Sleep coming to PS4 and will support Project Morpheus

by GH Staff

You might remember Among the Sleep, a kickstarter project headed by Norway studio Krillbite – originally planned to release on PC, Mac, and Linux, the first-person horror adventure is to now to hit PS4. In the game, players take control of a 2-year old boy’s mind who has an impressive imagination to say the least – filled with creatures and various obstacles set between a dream-state and reality.

CEO and programmer of Krillbite, Ole Andreas Jordet, posted on the official European PlayStation blog, in which he discusses various aspects of the game, specifically the imaginations young children possess – obviously an influence on the game, as follows:

Merging a child’s perception of reality with its wild imagination provides an interesting setting to tell a story. With only your teddy bear as a companion, we hope players will unravel what is actually causing the fear and confusion.

He goes on to officially announce the PS4 version as well as confirming that Sony’s virtual reality headset is to play a part in the players gameplay experience:

Lately we’ve also slowly started to realise we’re getting close. That the game is really shaping up, and we’re approaching the end! We want as many people as possible to be able play Among the Sleep when it’s released in the not-so-distant future, so I guess it’s no better time to announce that Among the Sleep will also be coming to PS4! We’re also thrilled to be among the first to explore Sony’s new virtual reality technology Morpheus for Among the Sleep.

No release date has been set for either version, however the spring 2014 window is currently planned. You can download the demo for PC, Mac, or Linux HERE – take a look at some gameplay below.
