Krillbite Studio has uploaded a new trailer for their upcoming first-person survival horror game; Among The Sleep, which finally reveals a release date of May 29, just a week away from now. There is no mention of as to when the PS4 version will be available, but it will definitely be available on PC, Mac, and Linux. In the trailer (see below), we see the perspective of a young toddler as he tries to make sense of the world around him, starting with a teddy that is able to move and talk by himself. Eventually the young boy is put to bed, in which he should be able to have a nice and relaxing sleep, however very dark and surreal events start emerging, providing a terrifying experience as the boy must navigate his way through a series of strange environments filled with ghastly enemies, all whilst questioning his perception of what is real and what is not. This is all done with the help of his trusty teddy bear, of course.
Although no date has been set for a PS4 release, it should be noted that it will make use of Project Morpheus, Sony’s virtual reality head set, which is scheduled for a release sometime in 2015. Krillbite Studio are a Norway-based developer who are generally not well known in the industry as of yet, but Among The Sleep could very well put them on the map so to speak. Other projects include The Plan – a “free atmospheric videogame, exploring issues of death and meaning.” – clearly Krillbite enjoy creating games with themes surrounding darkness and mystery, definitely a studio to keep an eye on.
