Respawn Entertainment’s anti-cheat team has suspended 258 Predator players in Apex Legends for account sharing, the developer announced in a Competitive Integrity Update published on September 18, 2026. The action follows an investigation into accounts accessed from multiple distinct devices, a practice that violates the game’s Terms of Service and undermines the integrity of Ranked play.
PlayStation and Xbox Suspensions Detailed
The 60-day suspensions were split across both console platforms. On PlayStation, 115 players were suspended. Of those, 92 were found frequently sharing their accounts, 2 were found sharing across 5 or more devices, and 21 were found both frequently sharing and sharing across 5 or more devices. On Xbox, 143 players were suspended. That group included 124 found frequently sharing their accounts, 2 found sharing across 5 or more devices, and 17 found both frequently sharing and sharing across 5 or more devices.
The investigation began after community reports of Predator players maintaining unusually long, continuous Ranked play sessions. The anti-cheat team reviewed login activity and device data associated with high-ranked accounts, identifying access patterns consistent with account sharing, specifically targeting console users.
Ranked Points Removed and Monitoring Continues
Under the game’s Terms of Service, account sharing is prohibited. Accounts found participating in account sharing will be suspended, and all associated Ranked points will be removed. The team stated it will continue monitoring Ranked play and taking action against accounts attempting to gain an unfair advantage through account sharing or other forms of abuse.
In a direct statement, the team said: “Ranked integrity matters, and the Predator leaderboard should reflect the players who actually earned their position.”
Bot Royale False Ban Reports Reviewed
The update also addressed Bot Royale false ban reports. Community members claimed recent enforcement actions were the result of players being incorrectly banned while playing Bot Royale. Investigators reviewed those reports, including accounts brought forward by the community, and conducted additional validation of the associated enforcement. Every ban was confirmed valid and correctly actioned. Respawn added that it takes reports of potential false bans seriously and will continue to review credible cases brought to the team’s attention.
