Apple’s holiday sale season was a great success

by GH Staff

Apple has just posted its revenues and sales statistics for the three month quarter that ended on the 28th of December 2013. The numbers show great promise for Apple’s future, with sales increasing on most fronts compared to last year. During the holiday quarter, Apple sold over 51 million iPhones and 26 million iPads. In comparison, last year’s numbers showed that 47.8 million iPhones and 22.9 million iPads were sold by Apple. Macs have also been selling better, with 4.8 million units sold compared to the same time period one year earlier, when Apple sold 4.1 million Mac units.

Revenues of Apple have also gone up, to a quarterly revenue of $57.6 billion (up from $54.5 billion) and a net profit of $13,1 billion, which more or less equals last years profit numbers. If you were expecting Apple’s business to come primarily from the US market, you’ll be surprised to know that 63% of its business came from international sales. Projections of the company show revenues between $42 billion and $44 billion for the second quarter of 2014’s fiscal year.
