Arma 3: Zeus DLC will be coming in spring and will be free

by GH Staff

Bohemia Interactive, the creator of the Arma series, has announced that the Zeus DLC for Arma 3 will be launching this spring, and will come free of cost. The DLC aims to add diversity to the game’s multiplayer mode, and brings a unique mode of its own. In Zeus, Arma 3 players will be able to assume the role of Game Master, and dynamically change the parameters of a battle or mission. Think along the lines of a Dungeon Master in a role playing game, but with vehicles, guns and explosions.

Zeus’ Game Master mode will be accessible in Arma 3’s coop games, team deathmatch games or sector control modes. The Game Master will oversee a battle from a birds-eye view, and will have multiple tools at his disposal to make a significant impact, via an elaborate editor. Everything works in real-time, so both the players on the map and the Game Master will have plenty to do and look out for. The mode is all the more interesting if we consider that Arma games have always had a strong support for modding. The DayZ Mod for Arma 2 is a prime example. With great tools at their disposal, community members will most likely find new and creative applications for the new Zeus DLC, and we’re curious to see what projects will emerge from this unique take on FPS multiplayer.
