This past month of November, Patrice Desilets, the creator of Ubisoft’s popular, yet polarizing Assassin’s Creed, established his own game studio in Canada, known as Panache Digital Games.
Desilets has revealed that his Panache Digital Games studio is currently working on a new AAA title. The yet-to-be-named project will reportedly be a third-person “historical-action-survival” game.

Assassin’s Creed Creator’s New Game
Desilets stated the following in an official press release regarding his new AAA video game:
“Indeed AAA games, I believe in them. I believe wholeheartedly that this medium we call ‘video games’ can be a positive force for change in our society and that AAA quality gaming experiences have unmatched strength to achieve this.”
Granted, Desilets’ above quote doesn’t give gamers much information of what to expect from Panache Digital Games’ new AAA project. However, it gives some previously unknown insight into what approach he and his team may adopt for its development.
As expected this early into the title’s development, many details were not disclosed. As such, The Assassin’s Creed creator’s new project currently has no working title.
It is also unknown whether or not Desilets was able to re-acquire the rights to a game set in Amsterdam during the late 1600’s, which he previously sold to Ubisoft. According to his own words, the Amsterdam-set game was meant to be the “new Assassin’s Creed.”
It’s possible that Desilets may take concepts and/or mechanics from the aforementioned game, and implement them into Panache Digital Games’ new title, however that is simply rumor and speculation.
