Assassin’s Creed – The Movie, What Fassbender has to Say

Assassin's Creed Movie with Micheal Fassbender

As people gear up for Assassin’s Creed Unity, many may also be looking forward to the new movie. Delayed to release in August 2015, there’s still quite some time to anticipate said movie. But, I’m sure some are skeptical about the movie. Like a good book, it’s always difficult to see your favorite series turn into a full on film production. What if they don’t capture the original work? What if they make mistakes, or they cast the wrong people? What if they stray too far from what the original work is? What if they don’t add anything new? Well, here’s what Michael Fassbender, starring and producing the Assassin’s Creed movie, had to say.

Assassin’s Creed Movie – Respectful to Game Series?

Fassbender told IGN that the movie will “respect the game.” He says he, and the others on board with this project, are lucky to be making a movie set in the Assassin’s Creed world, because of the array of different things to pull from and use that would transfer so well into a movie. However, they are also looking to bring their own spin on the series, adding new elements and interpreting things that happen in the game into their own adaptations. While they want to stay true to the core of the Assassin’s Creed games, they are producing and creating it as a movie, rather than a video game.

Don’t worry. The idea of experiencing past events through our DNA and our ancestors is still at the foundation of the movie. Fassbender’s words are certainly give hope to what’s to come. Seems as though we can expect a good blend of familiarities and things loved in the games along with the ingenuity and newness that Fassbender and others will bring.

How are you feeling about this movie? Skeptical? Excited? I for one, am interested in seeing what Fassbender will be bringing to the table. Either way, get ready for August 2015.
