Assassin’s Creed Unity is shaping up to have a solid single player experience, with a variety of missions, and a variety of ways to tackle these missions. We also know about the four player co-op mode, enabling us to tackle big missions with friends in many different ways. In addition to these modes, we now have a Heist Mode, two player missions tasking you with infiltrating an area, stealing an item, and sneaking your way back out, undetected. Check out the gameplay demo of a heist below:
An emphasis on this mode is the replayability involved. Each time you decide to tackle a heist, the guards will be placed in different places, there may be more, or less of them, or the treasure may actually be in a different location.
Working as a team seems essential in this mode. You’re often faced with guards that are unable to be taken out silently by yourself. Of course, you could rush in and slaughter them with your sword, but getting yourself detected lowers your reward, so you have a massive incentive to be sneaky. In difficult situations like these, working in tandem with your partner is vital. Coordinating attacks together or using co-op skills to help each other out. If one of your teammates gets detected or (in the worst case scenario) dies, the game doesn’t automatically end, you have the option of reviving your teammate.
You also have a variety of different skills to level up, deadly increases attack, resilient on defence, unseen on stealth and agile on agility and navigation. If you want to go through the whole level unseen, it’s best to level up your unseen skill. or just go all out deadly and blast your way through.
Assassin’s Creed Unity comes out on November 11th following a delay, on the PS4, XboxOne and PC.
