Publisher Ubisoft has released a cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity’s first DLC, Dead Kings, and also confirmed a release date.
Dead Kings will be heading to Xbox One and PC first on January 13th, 2015, while PlayStation 4 owners will be receiving the DLC on the following day.
Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat confirmed last year that the Season Pass for Unity had been discontinued and Dead Kings would be a free download following the backlash that the third-party publisher received on the open-world title’s poor development.
Dead Kings’ cinematic trailer focuses on Arno Dorian fighting bandits who are raiding the tombs of former French kings in the city of Saint-Denis.
“Fate brought me here for a reason,” says Arno. “Perhaps it’s time I let go of the past. And took a leap of faith.”
The official achievement list and weapons and costumes for Dead Kings were updated in the open-world title last year. Meanwhile, Ubisoft has released four patches — Patch 3 and Patch 4 were the most significant in dealing with the issues in the title — for Unity since it was released in November 2014.
20th Century Fox announced today a release date of December 21st, 2016 for the upcoming movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed, which will feature Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave & X-Men: Days of Future Past) in the lead role and Justin Kurzel (Macbeth) directing the film.
